Oil separators, also referred to as oil-water separators or light liquid separators, are designed to remove light liquids with a density of 600–900 kg/m³ from wastewater and stormwater. They are used for efficient separation of pollutants such as gasoline, fuel residues, engine oils, detergents, and other light liquids before treated water is discharged into the sewer system or the environment.
LIGHT FLUID SEPARATORS
Typical applications of oil separators include
- parking areas
- roads and highways
- fuel stations
- car wash facilities and self-service vehicle wash stations
- industrial and logistics facilities
- service and operational areas
Our oil and light liquid separators are fully designed in accordance with SRPS EN 858 standards and manufactured from pressed polypropylene (PP) sheets in a containerized design. This construction ensures excellent corrosion resistance, long service life, and easy installation.
Our product portfolio includes Class I and Class II oil separators, equipped with:
- integrated sludge chamber for solid contaminants
- gravity separator for light liquid removal
- coalescing filter for enhanced wastewater treatment
The operating principle enables solid particles to settle inside the sludge chamber, while oils and other light liquids are separated in the gravity chamber and further removed through the coalescing filter. As a result, only treated water leaves the separator in accordance with the required design parameters.
Separators are installed within reinforced concrete casings and designed for simple access during servicing and maintenance. Smaller models allow full opening of the top section, while larger units include dedicated service openings for easier internal access.
We manufacture oil separators in capacities ranging from 3 l/s up to 250 l/s..
Upon request, units can also be supplied with integrated bypass system, allowing controlled handling of increased flow rates and reducing the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall events or sudden peak inflows.
